Good To See Our Celtics Are Helping Negotiations

This fight has grown nastier, more personal, in the past weeks. Privately, management insists that everything changed when the Boston Celtics’ Kevin Garnett(notes) walked into the negotiating room on Oct. 4. The owners knew it wouldn’t go well when Garnett started glowering across the table, sources said, like the league lawyers, owners and officials were opponents at the center jump. He was defiant, determined and downright ornery. He was K.G. Everyone knew Hunter had to cede to the wishes of the stars, and the stars demanded that the players stop making concessions to the owners.

I love Kevin Garnett, I love his intensity on the court and his fire against opponents, but maybe the courtroom isn't the best place for him to be figuring he's very emotional. Reading his lips on the court shows that he can't go one sentence without using the word fuck in it. Maybe if he and David Stern were in a back ally that would work, however, that's not the case.

I just want there to be NBA basketball back so I can see the Big 3s swan song.

Kenny Anderson Took An Odd Turn In His Career

If asked you what former Celtic point guard Kenny Anderson was up to, would being the coach at an Posnack Orthodox Jewish School be your answer? probably not, but he is.

I think that it's pretty cool that he's doing this. Giving them Jews an opportunity for athletic hope. The job at the Jewish school came about last summer when a friend who also attended Georgia Tech and had a child enrolled at Posnack asked Anderson on Twitter if he was interested in coaching. Anderson, who lives nearby, said he was. The friend arranged a meeting with Anderson and the school’s athletic director, Mitch Evron, and its new headmaster, Richard Cuenca.

Kenny Anderson was one of my favorite Celtics, it's not like he was that great, or even a game breaker. He just never really messed up and was a solid player. When they traded him for that drunk Vin Baker, I was really pissed.

But bringing it back to Anderson at the Jewish School, this is really funny to me because a couple of girls on our Coed basketball team work for a Orthodox Jewish school and one actually coaches basketball at one of them, so imagining Kenny Anderson dealing with it would be hysterical.

Josh Howard To Celtics?

Holy shit, two NBA posts in one day?

Yea, I must be smoking with Josh Howard. Speaking of... I teased this on Twitter last night, and I needed follow through. There have been some interesting comments made by Josh Howard recently, which could lead you to believe that he wants to wear green, whenever there is actually basketball being played.

"Boston is a great organization," Howard said. "I also have a good friend in Marquis Daniels that spent a lot of time up there and who spoke highly of the organization. So that would be one of the teams I would actually look at if I had the opportunity to go there."

HAHAHA, of course him and Marquis Daniels are "good friends", these two probably smoke more then Snoop and Dre. Anyways, I do find this somewhat interesting. His knee is supposedly completely healed, and he has the talent to be a very good player, especially off the bench. Unlike the Red Sox, the Celtics have a great veteran work ethic, so maybe guys like Ray Allen/KG could get this guy motivated to be a good player for them. The Celtics are going to need to fill out their bench (if there is ever basketball), and this is a guy they would at least have to kick the tires on.

It is worth noting that he has only played 22 games over the last two years, but if they could get him cheap he could have great upside. It wasn't long ago when this guy was putting up 18 points a game with around 6 boards.

My verdict would be "only if it's real cheap", because he has never played a full season and hasn't played more then 52 games since 07-08.

I love Brian Wilson

So NBA 2k12 looks pretty sweet and I'm sure you have seen the commercials and I love how Brian Wilson represents the C's with, "Larry Bird didn't need to dunk, he laid it up like a real man." Although there is probably going to be a strike and it looks like the season may be gone, this brings a tiny bit of hope.

At first I wasn't a Brian Wilson fan, I felt he was trying to hard to be a weirdo, but you know what, after a while I realized he was just a weirdo. Anyways, here is the commercial and I find it very funny.

I don't think the best team ever is the 96 Bulls either, in fact, and I am going to get crushed for this, I think Michael Jordans career is tainted by the lack of talent in that generation. The Celtics/ Showtime Lakers/ Pistons were getting older and starting to retire, so he was left with Houston, Portland, Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing. MJ played during a time where there was a complete lack of "superstars" and that's why the Bulls were able to dominate for so long. Yes, he had the stats, the shots, etc, but for some reason I have never been able to respect him as the best ever. Like I think the 07 Celtics would have killed the 96 Bulls easily.

So There Is Definitely Not Going To Be An NBA Season This Year

It sucks but it's true, there isn't going to be an NBA season this year. Both Sides are not budging and with the players agents saying "don't cave" both sides are going to be at a stalemate and not be able to go forward. Tday is supposed to be a "Very huge day" but I don't see anything positive coming out of it.

It sucks because the NBA had a 5% increase in revenue last year and is on the top of it's game. You have never had so many "superstars" and "elite" type of teams and this will only get fans to be a little less interested in the sport come next year.

For the Celtics this could spell doom, none of those guys need to be a year older and it won't be great for their bodies. The only one that I trust will keep up on his conditioning is Ray Allen, KG and Rajon Rondo. I mean maybe there is a chance all of their salaries get absorbed and we can go out and get a free agent like Dwight Howard, but who knows. I think Boston may have to go through a rebuilding phase because I don't know how many free agents will actually want to come here knowing everyone is at the end of their careers.
