Step 3: Keep offense pretty much the same, resign David Ortiz and re-sign Jacoby if you can, if not, you have 1 more year of arbitration so fuck him. Promote Jose Inglesis and start Lavarnway/ Salty at catcher.
Step 4: Re-Sign Papelbon. Sign Heath Bell, Edwin Jackson. Explore a trade for John Danks or Gavin Floyd and when that fails fuck it sign Mark Buerhle.
Step 5: Since there is no way of removing Lackey, we go into the season with Beckett, Lester, Clay Buchholz, Edwin Jackson, Mark Buerhle, John Lackey and eventually Dice K, securing depth for the staff.
Step 6: With a new manager we are guaranteed to make the playoffs.
That way your not overspending on free agents and secure depth. Championship!
