Poor Jason Campbell

You have to feel bad for Jason Campbell, he was originally drafted by the Redskins and the hired a new coach every year with a new offensive system, then went to the Raiders and found a consistent situation, then he gets hurt, and now the future apparently belongs to Carson Palmer.

This should bring Campbell to the head of the free agent class this upcoming year and puts the Raiders with the chips all in with Palmer. I don't know what to think of Palmer, he hasn't been effective in 5 years since the knee injury and hasn't played a lick off football this year. Who knows how long it will take him to get into game shape or if he has it anymore. Palmer has a cannon and that bodes well for the Raiders type of offense which is a very vertical offense. We will see though.

Breaking News: Carson Palmer On His Way To Oakland

Oakland and Cincinnati are on the verge of completing a deal for holdout quarterback Carson Palmer in exchange for two first-round picks (The first first-round pick is in 2012 and the other is a conditional first-round pick in 2013). Yes, this gives the Raiders the QB they needed, but that is a very steep price. They could've got Garrard (or someone) to fill the void for the year, and now they are going to give 2 1st round picks for Palmer.

Maybe it will work out, and this will get the Raiders into the playoffs, but that I think that was a lot of give up. Palmer really hasn't a great year since 2006, and he had a lot more WR talent to work with in Cincy, then he will in Oakland. Plus, now the Raiders have 1 picks in the first 4 round of next years draft (remember they traded their second, fourth and seventh-round picks away already).

If Palmer somehow turns into the QB everyone thought he would be then fine this deal could be good, but right now I am going to say the Bengals got the better of this deal.

Give the Bengals credit. They wouldn't cave on Palmer and got exactly what they wanted. Dalton looks like he could be a decent QB. Green is a great WR, and now they have 2 more first round picks over the next two years to build around them. Good job by the Bengals.
