What BMack Is Watching On TV

I write this post about once a year, and give the breakdown of what shows I'm into. Thanks to DVR you can actually be into a bunch of shows and catchup whenever, which is basically the greatest thing ever since 80% I'm watching sports. I am not going to bother with comedies, because they come and go.

Shows I'm into now...

- Homeland - New show with Captain Winters (for you Band of Brothers fans). It's about a guy that has been a prisoner for 8 years, and they (US agents) are trying to figure out if he has been turned into a terrorist. Shows great, I know it is brief description, but I am not in the business of ruining shows for you.

- Dexter - Been into this show for awhile now. Still one of the best, but even I'll admit it's a very up and down show. Season 1 and 4 were some of the best seasons of any show ever created. So far season 6 has been pretty good (hard to judge till the end).

- Boardwalk Empire - This is a slow burn show. If you don't like that kind of stuff don't watch. Acting is amazing, and this season I think has already been better then season 1.

- Walking Dead - Great show, great first episode of season 2, but do yourself a favor and use the DVR, because they bury this show with commercials. As you'll notice with my list very few (non-comedies) that I watch that aren't HBO/Showtime.

- Game of Thrones - The first season of this show was awesome, and I can't wait till it is back on. If you haven't watched it it's a great time to catch up.

Show I am trying out, but can't say I'm into...

- American Horror Story - Yea there is weird freaky things going on in the show, but I had a hard time not making fun of it at the same time. Have only seen the first episode, so I'll have to try at least 1-2 more before I decide.

Show I should probably get into, but just haven't found the time...

- Breaking Bad - I know, I know everyone keeps telling me to watch it. I will...one day.

- The Wire - Watched the first 2 seasons then fell off. I'll be back.

Shows I have given up on...

- Fringe - Really no reason for it just kind of did.

- House - The show has always been a guilty pleasure, probably see it some day when I'm sick and it's running it's daily marathon on 3 different stations.

No More Simpsons? (UPDATED)

Fox is demanding that the voice actors from the Simpsons take a 45% paycut or the show will have to be cancelled. Right now, the actors make $8 million a year, so I really can't feel too bad for them making around $4.5 million instead.

The Simpsons has run it's course. It is one of the greatest television shows of all time, but probably should've ended when they came out with the movie. The movie was, in my opinion, pretty funny and it would've been a great sendoff. Now the show's rating are strong, but nowhere near what they used to be, and it looks like even if it does continue it'll be a slow death.

That being said, if I was the actors I would just take the pay cut and milk this for everything it's worth. What else are these guys going to do? Nothing, so unless they feel like retiring then I would just take my over $4 million a year for doing voices and laugh all the way to the bank.

***UPDATE***

"Longest Running Scripted Series on Television is Renewed Through Season 25 FOX has renewed THE SIMPSONS, the longest-running comedy in television history, for an incredible 24th and 25th season, bringing the series total to an astonishing 559 episodes (COMINGSOON.NET)."

Looks like they took my adcive. Like I said before the show isn't all that great anymore, but is pretty incredible that they have had this run. I don't see how it could ever get back to what it once was, but I guess I still have to say good for them this show was a lot of our childhoods.
