Around The NFL: Here We Go

25 Steelers, 17 New England
The Steelers and Big Ben proved that they were the team to beat in the AFC. No James Harrison, No James Farrior, No Hines Ward, no problem. The Captain failed to mention in the recap that Ben torched the suspect the Patriot defense for the tune of 365 yards on 50 attempts on which he had 36 completions. The Patriots defense were worse than the Steelers wide receivers and that was pretty evident. They basically controlled the whole game through the air.

Also the Captain failed to mention the terrific job the Steelers did on Brady and the offense. Pittsburgh did to the Patriots what the Patriots did to the Rams in the superbowl. They beat up the Patriot Receivers and they hardly made an impact on the game. Welker had 6 rec and 39 yards, Deion Branch had 4 rec for 36 yards and TD. The Patriots were unable to play their game, because the Steelers didn't allow them. The Lamar Woodley and Brett Keisel were in the backfield a lot putting a ton of pressure on Brady. Holding Tom Brady (who has been on record pace) to under 200 yards is amazing. Ike Taylor is the 2nd best corner in the league.

ANOTHER thing the Captain failed to mention is the follies by head coach Bill Belichick. Bill had his once a season real bad game. His game plan sucked and the onside kick was one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. They haven't got an onside kick in Bills time as a Patriots coach and had 3 time outs and the two minute warning. Yes, Gostkowski muffed it, but it should have been kicked deep. When is Bill going to accountable for these things. I mean he had a bye week to game plan for this and it was very "unPatriot" like. All they did was cut Leigh Bodden and put Pos I Dowling on the IR, which hurt in this game.

Looks like there will be a rematch in the Superbowl with Green Bay and Pittsburgh.

31 St. Louis, 21 New Orleans

What the fuck Saints and Drew Brees. How do you let the winless Rams destroy you. Steven Jackson had a great game running 25 times for 159 yards and 2 TDs. The Saints can't have these games if they want to be considered elite.

21 Panthers, 24 Vikings
Cam Newton is having a great year statistically but owns a 2-5 record. He threw 3 TDs and led his team to FG range at the end of the game to tie it and Olindo Mare shanked it. Tough loss for the Panthers, I feel like I say that a lot.

30 Baltimore, 27 Arizona
Right when I was bashing Joe Flacco all day he goes and 31/51 for 336 yards. Most of which was in the 2nd half. Baltimore had to come back from 24 points in this game, they won, but they can't feel good about themselves.

23 Bills, 0 Washington
I picked Washington in this game......... I shouldn't have. Ryan Fitzpatrick rewarded the Bills by throwing 262 yards and 2 TDs.

45 Lions, 10 Broncos

Here is Tim Tebow getting Tim Tebowed..... funniest thing ever.

Tebow went 18/39 for 172 yards with 1 TD, 1 Int and an for 63 yards and fumbled 3 times with 1 loss. Thank God we don't need to hear about him for a while.

34 Cincy, 12 Seattle
Andy Dalton may not be putting up Cam Newton stats however, he has his team at 5 and 2. Rookie AJ Green is having a pretty good year as well with 5 TDs this year. Seattle is bad.

34 Philly, 7 Dallas
This is probably Vick's best game since last year. He went 21/28 for 279 and 2 TDs and also chipped in with 50 rushing yards. But the real star of this team is Lesean McCoy running for 185 yards on 30 carries and 2 scores. I don't get Dallas, sometimes they look awesome and other times they look like last night.

Good Philly Deserves This!

The Eagles dreams fell apart faster than Ryan Howards Achilles tendon.

This weekend must of been eyeopening for those sewer creatures known as Philadelphians? Is that what you call them? Well I will just call them what they should be referred to as their known name, trash creatures. I don't mind the Phillies, I really wanted to see Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee get a ring, but Chris Carpenter shut that door hard in game 5. It could be the fact that I revel in the fact the only 3 major markets are out of it in baseball. I saw one of my friend from Philly's fb status the other day listing 5 people and saying those were the only Bruins fans I saw last year.... just sayin. That seems pretty childish figuring before 2008 the Phillies never came close to selling out Citizens bank park, and before that the Vet didn't come close between 96-03 they didn't come close to 30,000 people, the same could be said about the Flyers since their most recent history. Winning breeds new fans, it's not a bad thing, it actually is a great thing getting more support from people. Must be something that comes with actually winning Championships something Philly has only once in the past 100 years. Continue being the little sister, know you're role and shut up.

Lets move on to the Eagles, they need to have a new coach, a new defensive coordinator and a new QB. I know they won't change QBs because they spent 100 million on Vick this offseason, however, if they want to win you put in Vince Young. Vince doesn't put up the gaudy stats that Vick does, but he does 1 thing better than him, win games. Vick has regressed and will continue to unless there is a significant change in offense game planing.

....just sayin

Around The NFL

38 Steelers, 17 Titans

The Steelers needed a statement win and they got one yesterday as a James Harrison, Casey Hampton and Aaron Smithless defense played extremely well on that side of the ball holding Chris Johnson to 51 yards and getting to the qb 3 times and causing turnovers.

But the real reason the Steelers won is due to one of the best QBs in the country and one of, if not the toughest SOB in the league Ben Roethlisberger. Big Ben threw 5 TDs yesterday on one leg. He didn't have Mendenhall or an offensive line, yet Ben was on point the whole game. The Titans had the best defense coming into the league only allowing 5 TDs on the year and Ben doubled that in one game. Should we hand him the MVP award right now?

25 Packers, 14 Falcons
Aaron Rodgers once again had a great game, throwing around 400 yards and 2 TDs. Also, the Falcons are just so bad, I'll start the Matt Ryan is not good club. He's an overrated D Bag that belongs in the same catagory as Tony Romo and Michael Vick. Speaking of Vick.....

31 Buffalo, 24 Philly
VY isn't only the first and last letters in Victory, but they are Vince Young's initials and thats not a coincidence. Mike Vick did a great job turning the ball over 4 times and making awful decisions. Vince Young should be starting for this team. Mike Vick has regressed into the Falcons ineffective Vick and not only should their be a coaching change, their should be a QB change. Also, the Eagles are dumb, how were they drawn off sides on that 4-2 at the end of the game. Much like the people in Philly that game was ugly.

36 Seahawks, 25 Giants

ShEli Manning is up to her old tricks again, just throwing picks at the worst times. She threw a pick 6 at the worst possible time. Charlie Whitehurst finally came in for the Seahawks and torched the Giants secondary.

29 SD, 24 Broncos

Who cares about the outcome of the game, it's Tebow time. After John Fox had his hands ties with Kyle Orton's ineffectiveness he put in Tim Tebow and must have been pleasantly surprised. Tebow was 4/10 for 79 yards in the air and had 6 rushes for 38 yards and 1 TD. Tebow may not be a great qb or accurate, but he can bring other types of weapons in which it may not matter.

25 Oakland, 20 Texans

Al Davis said it best, "Just Win Baby" and that's what the Raiders did with the death of their owner in everyone's heart. Matt Schaub had a brainfart at the end of the game and instead of running in for a TD (which he had) he threw a blatant pick into the hands of Michael Huff (An Al Davis draft pick), Derius Heyward Bay also scored a TD too.

Cincy won, AJ green is sweet

Minnesota one, get off Donovan McNabb

Patriots were bailed out by officials all game, Pay off the refs gate probably going to happen soon.

Will Mike Vick's Comments Work For Him

Mike Vick pulled a little Phil Jackson move when he talked about the refs not giving him calls that they would for other QBs. (Fact is he had more penalties called for him than Brady, Rodgers, Brees and Rivers combined) To me this is a simple case, Vick you act like a runningback, so they will call the game as if you were a RB when you are out of the pocket. You play recklessly so you can't expect the Refs to give you a benefit for that.

I like Vick and I like his style of play, but he plays to get hurt. If you constantly are leaving yourself out their getting hits and shit, you will get hurt, and the refs have nothing to do with it. I would hate to be an official in the SF/Philly game this weekend, because they will be under the microscope the whole game. The question is, will Vicks comments effect how they call the game?

No Way.... Vick Is Hurt!!!! (UPDATED)

I think this could be a weekly article for me now. Every week we can say how Vick got hurt. This time it was a broken hand, and then after Vick pulled back his new golden boy persona and said that it's unfair he gets hit so much.

"I was trying to protect myself," Vick said in his postgame news conference. "Still didn't get a flag and that's pretty much been the story for the last three weeks. I mean, obviously at some point something catastrophic is going to happen and I broke my hand."

"Looking at the replays, I'm on the ground every time, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't frustrated," Vick said. "The refs have got to do their jobs. And I mentioned it to the refs in training camp when I talked to them. I'm on the ground constantly, all the time. Every time I throw the ball, I'm on the ground. And I don't know why I don't get the 15-yard flags like everybody else does (ESPN)."

Maybe you should talk to your offensive line, or maybe you should release the ball earlier, or maybe you shouldn't be Vick for a day and make every play 30 secs long. Whatever the reason, this is just trying to get future calls. As for the Eagles they are in serious trouble if they don't have Vick. This team is terribly overrated, and the only thing that makes them special is Vick. Without him this could easily be an 8-8 team. No word yet how long he will be out, but we will be sure to update when we get a chance.

Then again, even if he is back next week he'll probably break his leg or something. Good thing they gave Mr. Glass a $100 million dollar deal.

***UPDATE***

Michael Vick's broken right hand isn't actually broken and instead a misread X-ray. Good, we can see how he will get hurt again next week.
