Poor Jason Campbell

You have to feel bad for Jason Campbell, he was originally drafted by the Redskins and the hired a new coach every year with a new offensive system, then went to the Raiders and found a consistent situation, then he gets hurt, and now the future apparently belongs to Carson Palmer.

This should bring Campbell to the head of the free agent class this upcoming year and puts the Raiders with the chips all in with Palmer. I don't know what to think of Palmer, he hasn't been effective in 5 years since the knee injury and hasn't played a lick off football this year. Who knows how long it will take him to get into game shape or if he has it anymore. Palmer has a cannon and that bodes well for the Raiders type of offense which is a very vertical offense. We will see though.

Jason Campbell Out For Year?

Jason Campbell suffered a broken collarbone in Sunday's victory, and it sounds as if he will miss the rest of the season. This makes an interesting problem for a Raiders team that has a chance to make the playoffs this year. For now, Kyle Boller came in and went 8 for 14 for 100 yards, but I don't think he will be good enough to get the job done for the Raiders and the only other QB on the roster is Terrelle Pryor. I know for whatever reason DP will say Pryor should start, but if this team actually wants a chance to go to the playoffs I think they need to go out and sign someone else.

It seems the Raiders agree as they have reached out to free agent quarterback David Garrard. I am not a big Garrard guy, but the Raiders are a heavy run team, and Garrard gives them what they need, which is a guy who is accurate (61.6% in his career, 64.5% last year). I think that Garrard is good enough that with this running game he can do enough to win.
