Robin Ventura Hired As White Sox Coach

I like what the White Sox do in hiring former players with no managerial experience to manage the team. It was very successful with Ozzie Guillen and they are hoping it works out now with dark horse candidate Ventura.

None of us know anything about Ventura and how he will be so I guess none of us can have an opinion of the hiring. I never minded Robin as a player so I won't mind him as a manager. If any team needs maybe a change of scenerie type of coach it would be the White Sox who everyone for the exception of Paul Konerko under preformed. Adam Dunn was a corpse, John Danks and Gavin Floyd can't make the leap into "Ace" or even reliable status.

People thought Terry Francona may go here, however, he's not the manager to take over a team in turmoil and he cost too much for ChiTowns blood.

I like it, although it could be a major fail later.

Another reason why this is important is because this leaves the Red Sox alone in the market for hiring managers.
